Iran: The revolution that betrayed women


Today is March 8, Women’s International Day. On the same date of 1979, many women, who played a key role in the Revolution against the Sha, were starting to realise that they were going to be the next victims of the Revolution itself. They went out to demonstrate, only to find themselves stoned and nearly shot by a mob of men. Today, their daughters fight in the frontline of the battle against the religious-military Iranian dictatorship.
